How awesome is it that an adopted child gets to spend time with their birth mom? All my kids have awesome birth moms. Grace's birth mom came to visit us for a few days and to help celebrate Grace's birthday. We don't get to see her very often because she lives far away so it was nice to have her come so we could get to know her better. She is so much fun. We had a great time having her visit. Grace was sad to see her leave. My neighbor was so sweet to offer to take our picture. She did a great job. Grace is a lucky girl to be loved by so many people!
I haven't been to the music store for years and I've been wanting to play some new stuff on the piano. I finally made it yesterday and I couldn't believe what I found. A piano book by George Winston. I have loved George Winston since I was in high school. I've seen him in concert at least five times.
I played for a couple of hours yesterday (not consecutively, I still have kids!) and have been playing every minute I get today. I'm so happy. I love playing the piano!
My good friend has been practicing her photo skills and asked me to bring Grace over to get some pictures of her with her daughter. I thought these were pretty cute.
In the past years I was never very fond of Mother's day. When Mother's Day rolled around it was always just a bad reminder that I was not a mom. I didn't totally hate Mother's day, it was just hard. I think I can say that I love Mother's Day now. Not that my Mother's Day's are very exciting (yesterday I spent the day at home taking care of one very sick boy & I didn't even shower until 10pm), but I love it because it gives me a chance to think about our children's birth moms's and the blessings that they are to me for giving us such wonderful children. They are such amazing girls! I love them all so much and I am so happy that they are a part of my life. I also enjoy the time to reflect on my mom and mother-in-law and what wonderful women they are. These women all inspire me to be better. Thank you mom for giving me life, thank you Evelyn for raising an amazing son, and thank you Kristi, Alexandra, & Tawni for giving me the opportunity to be a mother. I truly am blessed!
Steven and his cousin Asher are so cute together. Two is my absolute favorite age. The boys are not quite two yet, but fast approaching. They are such good friends and have so much fun together. I love that they both had to wear helmets. So cute!
