Snow Fun!

We get a little bit of snow every year and this year there wasn't much, but the kids still had a lot of fun. Just enough snow for a little snow ball fight!

Families Are Forever

What a wonderful blessing it is to know that families are forever. With the passing of my dad I've had many questions from my kids about what happens when you die and where your body goes, etc. Grace is trying so hard to understand it all and she finally said to me today, "my head is all crazy right now mom". Sweet girl! It is all crazy and so wonderful to know that this life isn't the end of our existence. We will once again be together with my dad.

Cupcake Lovers

My kids LOVE to make and decorate cupcakes which is funny because they don't love to eat them. Well, they like to eat the frosting part.

I love how Steven is reaching for the cupcakes in all three pictures. He is getting so big.

Date Nights

Bruce has been out of town so I decided to take Hunter and Grace out separately and have a date night with me. I let them choose where they wanted to go out and eat and what they wanted to do afterward. Hunter wanted to search for cool rocks, so we went on a hike and Grace wanted to go to Fiesta Fun. She was barely tall enough to ride the fast go carts with me and she loved it! It was a fun couple of nights for me.

Flag Football

When I take pictures like these, I so wish that I had a nicer camera. But I am a photographer retard so it is probably good I don't have anything fancy. Anyway, Bruce hates soccer and my sister-in-law signed her son up for this flag football clinic so I thought that it might be good for Hunter. He loves it. He is really fast and loves to pull those flags. He loves it so much that he pulled his own teammates flag off during the first game...makes a parent proud!

I love when I get some pictures that just make me smile. Here are a few of the kids that I really like. They are all really happy because we went to Steheli Farm and they love that place. They ask me all year when they can go back. It was a fun night.

Our Last Dinner

So last Sunday was the last time that my dad will be sharing Sunday dinners at home with his family. My dad was put in a rest home two weeks ago and his health is going downhill pretty fast. It was so nice to have him home one last time and to take some pictures and let the grand kids see him at home. It has been interesting seeing him almost everyday at the rest home. Some days he seems to be doing great while other days he is so out of it and in lots of pain. It's hard to see him like this. No one wants to see someone they love deteriorating.

My dad is an amazing person and I love him so much! I feel blessed that he has been with us for as long as he has. He is a great example to me.

First Day of Preschool

What a happy face! Grace had a great first day of preschool. We are doing a home school with five other kids. I taught today and will teach on Thursday. Then I get a five week break until I have to teach again. It went really well and all the kids had fun. I think it is going to be a great year!

Ouch! That Hurt!

so you have to click on this picture and make it big to see what I am going to talk about, but poor little Steven fell and bit his lip yesterday. It just made me so sick! two weeks ago he got stitches on his head & a black eye and now this. I can't even look at his lip without getting sick to my stomach. I'm so sorry Steven!!!

"First day of school...first day of school" -Nemo

So it is official, Hunter started kindergarten. He couldn't be happier. He is in the same class as his cousin (in the picture) and his friend from next door. He loves riding the bus and loves that he doesn't have any homework! I think kindergarten is easier for him than preschool! :-) Every day he comes home happy and tells me that he had lots of fun.

A hiking adventure

Our niece Sara was visiting us from BYU and I was sick all week, so Bruce took her and the kids hiking on Saturday while I stayed home and rested. It was nice to have the house to myself, but I would have rather gone hiking & not been sick. But I'm glad that they all had fun. Who doesn't love to play in the water?

17 Years

Bruce and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary! It is amazing that we have been blessed with that many years together. I have known Bruce for 21 years...wow. I feel so lucky to have him in my life. We celebrated by going to Salt Lake (without the kids) and seeing our favorite singer, Chris Isaak in concert. It was a great concert and and great weekend.

Summer Vacation!!!

OK, so we are back from a very long two & a half week summer trip. We drove to northern California and then all the way to southern California. We started off visiting with Bruce's parents for a week then we drove to Los Gatos, Monterrey, & San Diego. We did so many fun things and the kids had such a great time. I've only posted a handful of pictures and we didn't take pictures of everything we did. Some of the really fun things were canoeing on the pond, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, The San Jose Children's museum, Oak Medow Park, Tide pools, Sea World, swimming at Whisky Town Lake, hiking at Bernnie Falls, visiting with family and friends and swimming at the ocean & hotel pool. What a fun summer and how wonderful it is to be back!
